S3D Team Recognized in Moonshots AI Competition

Faculty members in the Software and Societal Systems Department are among the Carnegie Mellon University researchers who earned recognition in the Laude Institute's Moonshots competition, which challenges participants to apply AI to some of society’s most pressing problems.
The institute named “Build With, Not For: An AI-Accelerated Rapid Research Translation Platform for Equitable Reskilling” a runner up in the competition. As such, the work will receive $200,000 in funding and will be featured at an upcoming showcase for potential funders. S3D faculty involved in the project include Claire Le Goues, Heather Miller and Michael Skirpan, who will collaborate with Community Forge in Pittsburgh to co-design tools to reduce the administrative burden for social service workers.
