Bio

Dr. Austin Henley is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Software and Societal Systems Department in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He was previously the CTO of an acquired startup, a researcher at Microsoft on the program synthesis team, and a tenure-track professor at University of Tennessee. His teaching emphasizes experiential learning-by-doing, engaging students in hands-on projects and real-world problem-solving activities, ensuring they adopt industry best practices. His research involves building AI-powered developer tools with novel user interfaces to provide developers a more effective feedback loop.
